Here's another shot from the vicinity of the Many Glacier Hotel in Glacier National Park. Heck, it might have even been taken from my room (I'd say that qualifies as a million dollar view)!

This is morning light. The skies are incredibly clear after the storm the night before. Mostly I just want to post the clear skies to bug Neik some more.

PP: Some sensor dust cloned out, a resize, frame, and moderate USM.

Excellent - what a super view, and you show all the little details and colours quite magnificently. The light is awesome - well done.
Yes Niek - what a sky too!

Beautiful image and very well exposed for such a diverse array of shadows and sunlight. I do find the white square in the lake somewhat distracting, might be worth cloning out if your ethics allow! Its been a long time since I've been to Glacier, makes me want to go back.

Hi Mike
Beautiful landscape. Perfcetly transparent view. Very good composition, perfect sharpness. I like the cloud on great blue sky
Very good job
Best wishes

So you have the milliondollarview, Mike.
Next step (just a tip) could be the carving of your profile in that rock:-)
Impressive view!
Well done

Hi Mike,

A good POV of the Swiftcurrent lake and of the Grinnell peak, the photo has a good composition, DOF and nice colors. thanks for sharing.

Hi Mike,
A very impressive view!
I like so much that beautiful sky, it's blue gradient, the cloud, and all the details got thanks to all the DOF.
The c. polarizer worked great for the colour's side, and the composition couldn't be better.
Well done and thanks for share it.
My best regards,

Hi Mike,
Thanks for bugging me a bit more. I am jealous of this wonderful clear sky. But I don't mind being jealous when beauty is shown. The clear sky is not only beautiful, but the rest of the photo as well. The wonderful cloud which has this warm color from the early sun is pefectly positioned in the photo. The fact that it has just a little part behind the highest peak gives the photo more depth. The view onto Angel View is magnificent. Love the colors and details you managed to capture.

A stunning image.

You certainly did have some clear air while you were there. I don't think I've ever seen such clear shots of this scene.. and I have been there many times. So you actually stayed at the hotel. I've only camped there. I know they just refurbished the whole place... at least on the outside. I also know it flooded earlier this spring. I've stayed at other national park hotels and they were a bit on the rustic side.

It's a super image. I might have cropped out a bit of the tip. I think the cloud grabs too much attention from those wonderful mountains. TFS
Evelynn : )

Wonderful capture Mike..
This one takes your breath away :)
Whether the boat stays in or out is a matter of taste I guess...at least it's not pink ;}}
On the one hand it gives scale to the landscape..On the other some will say it's so small it becomes a distraction.
Very well done!

Breath-taking view . I like much the framing of this very beautiful very panorama.
Best wishes,

Hi Mike,
wow what a shot! Huge view! I would kill to have scenery like this on my doorstep! You have done a great job of capturing it with my favourite lens. Wonderful lighting, a great composition & POV..unlike Evelynn i would've perhaps liked to have seen less lake and more of that amazing cloud..seems you can't please everyone right? A truly great shot though. I have had a look through your gallery and you have some superb shots, which i seem to have missed for some reason. I will be returning from now on!

Hello Mike,
Some times the clouds draw the attention, no matter how good looking the mountains are!
This is a fine composition, where the fine angle of light really creates a 3D effect...
Attractive late summer colours!

Hi Mike!

I came across your pictures when I read the critiques to Niek's b&w birch. It's a pleasure to go through your images and I stopped for while on this one because it took me away for a while from stress and sorrows. It's a wonderful picture of a great and impressive mountain scenery, very well composed with the lake pointing at the center of interest. All what makes nature and mountains so interesting and captivating is in it: water, forest, rocks and a marvellous cloudy sky.

It was a good beginning of the day for me...

Kind regards

Hello Mike, nice shot. I really like the huge cloud atop of that peak. The light is good here and has given some good colours on the rocky slopes. I may be tempted to crop a little from thee left hand side - the dark triangle from the unseen peak doesn't add anything here. It is a good shot as it is though. Well done.
