Today is the first day of Autumn, I think.
These two didn't seem the least bit concerned with that piece of trivia. They floated and danced as if it was the first day of Spring.

Once again meet Papilio (or Heraclides)cresphontes - otherwise known as the Giant Swallowtail. According to Stokes' Butterfly Book, they stay in the south all year.

Hi Angelina,
Fabulous shot of these dancing Swallowtails. They really look huge and the lighting creates a fine effect on their wings. The blue sky acts as a perfect BG to let them stand out. You have freezed an awesome moment here. Excellent POV and very nicely composed. Kudos.
TFS.

Have a good weekend.

Hi Angelina,
What a surprising shot you produced here. I like the surrealistic atmosphere in it. Very good composition, vivid colours and a very good DOF.
Compliments Angelina!
Regards, Ruud

I love this: the ballet of the butterflies. Very beautiful lighting. The subjects seem fragile, but seem to be in sync with each other. Nice, clear details. I love the softness of the second butterfly - a wonderful, uplifting shot.

Hello Angy

Hi Angy,

I didn't realize it was autumn until I saw this. You wouldn't know it here - still feels like the middle of summer. This is a fantastic capture - hard enough to get one in-flight no less two. The colors are just beautiful.

Jane

awesome catch, wow, I would be very hapy with such one, lovely

Wow... Now this is how butterflies should be taken. It sure portrays the term frittering and free.Spectacular lighting through wings. The one that is blurred adds to the artistic effect in my opinion. Great stuff Angelina.

Hi Angelina.
Wow, great flight capture to get them both. Great light on them really showing up their colour and patterns in their wings.
Wonderful

Kathleen

Hi Angelina,
Two in the same frame, very hard to do..The upper swallowtail is well focused, and I like the their positions in opposite corners of your frame :)
Well done!

Hi Angelina,
An action shot like this one is very very hard to get! I tried so many times without success.
Great composition and lighting.

The composition is superb, Angy, but I must admit I am just a bit distracted by the softness of the foreground butterfly

It is definitely the sense of movement which makes this picture stand above. If they were both still it would just be another double which isn't bad at all come to think of it...wonderful title and nice feel to it.

Hello Angy,
thank for you kind words and for these fair Ladies (in Italian the name butterfly is FARFALLA, and it is feminine, so I imagine every butterfly as a female...), not easy to capture them together with this grace.
Have a nice Sunday,
Violetta

Wow girl - you got 'em, and you got 'em good. That's very poetic - and besides the experience, just seeing that, you also captured a memorable shot. Off to my fav's you go! Bravo!
Cheers, Klaus

hello Angelina

excellent flight image, in your title The Butterfly Dance ,
looking at your photo, i can imagine the steps (up and down)
of this dance in the air, TFS

Hi Angelina,
A beautiful concept of shooting these beauties in the mid air. The experiment turned out well. Only the STBF below is a little blurred and I think SSpeed of 1/1000sec would have better. Any way a nice concept. Thanks a lot for sharing.

very good job here !
great catch 2 in 1
regards
jo

Hello Angy,

Fabulous capture of these two beautiful dancing butterflies. This is indeed a photo when you can say I was on the right place at the right time. An action shot like this one is very very hard to get. Chapeau. Wonderful colors. POV, and BG are good. It's only pity that the butterfly is a bit out of focus. But nevermind, only pity. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day and TFS BOB
