Hallo John,
Groeten,
Niek

Hello John,
This is a well composed image and fine capture, good point of view!
I notice the shiny surface, is this because of rain or it this real...
Effective framing, sharp fine details and natural colours!
Greetings,

Hi John,
Thank You very much for Your kind critiques on my photos. Although You say You aren't a macro specialist, this photo's very fine: excellent composition, colours and sharpness, the way it should be. About ID specification, I think this is a Pluteus, probably Pluteus cervinus, but I'm not sure. Ask Marco ("sarcodon"), he's a pro mycologist and a helpful guy.
Tfs this awesome photo and congratulations.

Oozy, slimy, smooth... all of these attributes wonderfully captured. I feel like I'm there. Well done, and not a nit to pick (that's unusal for me).

Hallo John,
Succes ermee. Tot de volgende keer en TFS Bob

Hi John,
Interesting grouping of these mushrooms.
They look so wet and slimy.
Fine color and focus.
Well composed though crop just a bit tight for me or maybe the wide frame makes me feel a bit closed in on top and right side.

Hello John,
Nice capture of these slimy fungi, the ID of which is a mystery to me, but I don't think they are edible.
Nice sharpness, lighting and colour.
Well done and TFS!

Hi John,
yours is a good photo for naturalistic photography, but to identify the species we need a more didactic representation, because this is a not easy fungus. In particular is indispensable to see colour and shape of the gills and the stem.
Of course I have some ideas about genera, but they are only sensations, without certain. I'm sorry.

Hi John. This macro is very clear and much detaill is visible. The very wet surface makes it stand out from most mushroom photos. Sorry but i do not know the species name. TFS. Murray.

good shot in available light with the monopod doing its work well
your aperture and speed suggest a high asa rating?

Hello John,
excitingly precise report of slimy mushroom surfaces, and early morning's frozen ground. An appealing combination of well saturated and smoothly subtle colours. The only thing left to do in postwork is the treatment of some noisy parts in the background. An eye catching image of high aesthetical qualities. Thank you!
My best regards,
Peter

Heel bijzondere foto John,

Dear John,
I was away on holiday and am working my way through the photos posted during that time. I saw amongst the critics to the Hawaiian Mountains from "pierrefonds" your name, and did not recognise it...
I chose in your portfolio this particular image, because the "slimy" wet of your fungi reminding me of snails. In this part of the world (NE of South Africa) - one of the driest areas - we do have neither snails nor fungi.
I like very much the lay-out in your image, the tight cropping emphasising the object.
The somber background conveys well the forest habitat.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday,
Kind regards
Ingrid
