Hi all,
After another hectic week I'm posting one of the gems that i took in Blijdrop Butterfly pavilion. This is "The Common Palmfly", Elymnias hypermnestra, which is a species of satyrid butterfly found in south Asia. Males and females do not look alike. Males exhibit black colored upperside forewings with small blue patches and reddish brown color on upperside hindwings, while the females mimic butterfly species of the genus Danaus.
Range is Peninsular India, sub-Himalayas and southeast Asia.

Thanks for dropping by

Hi Goutham,

What a strange name for a butterfly. I have not seen this one before. Nice rich colors, fine details, great background and wonderful composition on the diagonal stalk.

Hi Goutham,
Hope you are doing fine there.
This is an outstanding shot with such sharp details and lovely colours. Are they breeding this species there? How is it coping with the climatic change? Good use of flash and great exposure. I like its classical pose on the green branch. Excellent POV to portray it and very nicely composed. Kudos.
