Hi! I'm the European hornet, although people with entomological knowledge call me Vespa crabro.
I'm the largest wasp in Europe, and I'm as "tall" as 35mm! We, like you people, are social insects, ruled by a queen and she's the only female of our clan. The rest of us are males or workers. We look almost alike (could you tell what am I?).
Now move away and don't come closer because, although I'm quite peaceful and nonagressive, my sting is really painful and I won't hesitate to use it on you if you disturb me or come too close to my nest.
Better watch my elegant flight from a safer distance.

Superba insecta asta, vara asta am gasit si eu un cuib in Ro si am fost tare bucuros sa-i pot fotografia, dar din pacate dupa o saptamana cand m-am intors un "om de bine distrusese cuibul",nu stiu cu ce l-or fi suparat.Am ramas doar cu cateva poze luate in graba.
Ce imi place la poza asta sunt detaliile foarte fain prinse ce scot in evidenta mandibulele uriase, focus foarte bun deasemenea.

Amazing close-up picture with very interesting your POV and wasp's POV. Excellent sharpness of the image and very effective (I think) flash light. Shot is composed very well too. Excellent job and TFS.
