Kruger National Park, day 11 (11/20).
Image taken along the H1-7 on my way from Shingwedzi to Punda Maria. Punda Maria is situated in the northwest of Kruger.
Weather was very hot.

Together with the Chacma Baboon the Verver Monkey is common in Kruger.
The Cercopithecus aethiops (L:1m; 5kg) is social and omnivorous. They spend their time in the trees near rivers using them food, shelter and refuge.

And I got 'a passenger' in my car in the beginning of the safari while I was alone at an at your own risk get-out point
in N'wamanzi. Left the door open in case of emergency while being outside the car. Wrong idea.
Never leave your door open when you are getting out of the car. Convinced there was nothing but nevertheless in a hurry, I made some images. Turned away from the wonderful Olifants river view, to get back in my car. "Surprise..", a Vervet Monkey was sitting on the back bench of my car amidst camera gear, eating a cookie. Bought some cookies in a shop. He had opened the plastic. Unbelievable! Fortunately he jumped out immediately when he saw me being 'in some state'...
They can be little crooks.
Empty your fridge, taking away your food,...and it seems they bite. I saw there teeth...'wow'.

Here, he or she was sitting in a tree. Cloned a few little branches 'in the south'.
Cropped a bit.
PP workflow more or less as usual.

Hope you like this portrait. Thanks for your critiques yesterday. Have a nice day!

Hurrah! Monkey aganin!
Birds are great, but I think that your pictures of mammals are especially wonderful. This one is very good. Sharp and detail are perefect, color and light - better that we can wait from any camera. I like it!

Hi Annick. A beautifull crisp and colourful composition. This close up using 400 mm is very good to see. The fur looks so real in this photograph. TFS. Murray.

I'm running out of ways of expressing how super your shots are!!! This shot was worth losing a few cookies. The over the shoulder pose is striking.
