Hungry Cedar Waxwing - Done in Wabukayne Park - Mississauga

This is an extensively edited photo in Corel Photo Paint. The lighting was very difficult late in the evening and against the light. In the original the bird was completely dark and because of that the image is noisy but I like the action and I decided to post it.

The Cedar Waxwing is one of the most frugivorous birds in North America. Many aspects of its life, from its nomadic habits to its late breeding season, may be traced to its dependence upon fruit.

Description
Medium-sized songbird.
Gray-brown overall.
Crest on top of head.
Black mask edged in white.
Yellow tip to tail; may be orange.

Size: 14-17 cm (6-7 in)
Wingspan: 22-30 cm (9-12 in)
Weight: 32 g (1.13 ounces)

Hola Mario.- Siempre he sido admirador de esta especie de aves, sus colores son muy bellos, y ademas son muy sociables, por lo general siempre vuelan en parvadas. Esta foto es muy bella, exelente colorido y nitidez. Luis52.

And you did right to post it even with the noise as this is one of my preferred birds that I don't see often... This is a beautiful action shot well done under those difficult circumstances. I had the same problem photographing them; they always come in my neighborhood at the end of the day when the sun is setting down... They are such beautiful and elegant birds! Thanks,
Claudine

Hi Mario, you did a good job on this photo because it doesn't show much that you've edited it. They are such beautiful birds, it is well captured and I the composition is perfect, good idea to post it. I haven't seem many of those birds in my area, up north in the mountains, only once. Lucky you!

Francine

As others have said, the pose and action in this image more than compensate for the noise. You did a good job on overcoming the effect of shooting against the light.

Hi Mario,
this is very nice shot against not good light condition. Action, moments, POV and composition with reddish berry. I try to make WS with Photoshop CS2. I hope you will like it.
thanks for sharing of this beautiful bird, one of my favourite bird.
Best wishes
Ahmet

Hi Mario,
that's a wonderful shot, I like the moment and the good sharpness so much.
I'd like to see such a bird with my own eyes, but we don't have them here in Germany.
Thanks and greetings
