|Said, can get too close for comfort for either of us. Caught this on a fishing pier (pun intended) and they are not at all afraid of humans there. Took it with my Kodak before we purchased our "better" camera. Cleaned up his bill - was cold so he was all hunkered down aqnd had been fluffing his feathers to help with warmth - sharpened, highlights/midtones to darken background and bring out some feathering, curves to bring up the yellow, cropped, resized, usm and upload! Wow, extremely close up! How amazing eye! I really like this photo but I just wish there where a tiny bit more sharpness on the plumage... have you tried to sharpen it a bit?

That eye is WONDERFUL! The overall detail is also very good and sharp. TFS
Awesome detail, great shot! Softness of the plummage contrasted to the exceptional detail of the face and beak are unbeatable!!
