TN friends, This is a third attempt of bird shot with macro lens. :) I'd captured a few shots of the Blue Jay in flight very luckily last weekend. This is first one.

Sometimes, I try to get action shot in practice.
I remember that I'd shot the leaves falling down from the trees not too far long ago. :-(
To capture the flying bird is very good item for me, It's very exciting to me and also would be very nice practice to capture the dragonfly in flight next year. :-)

Thanks for looking and I hope you'll like it.
Any comments welcome! :-)

* Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata)
The Blue Jay measures about 30 cm from bill to tail and weighs 70–100 g (2.47-3.53 ounces), with a wingspan of 34–43 cm (13–17 in). Its plumage is lavender-blue to mid-blue in the crest, back, wings, and tail, and its face is white. The underside is off-white and the neck is collared with black which extends to the sides of the head. The wing primaries and tail are strongly barred with black, sky-blue and white. The bill, legs, and eyes are all black. Males and females are nearly identical; males are slightly larger. There is a pronounced crest on the head, a crown of feathers, which may be raised or lowered according to the bird’s mood. When excited or aggressive, the crest may be fully raised. When frightened, the crest bristles outwards, brushlike. When the bird is feeding among other jays or resting, the crest is flattened to the head.

Hello Kevin,
Great in flight shot of a Blue Jay requiring great timing and focusing.
The lighting, sharpness and bokeh are superb. Must have been a sunny November day when you took this, in order to be able to use such a high shutter speed.
Well done and thanks,
Best wishes, Ivan

The details here are impeccably clear and the action is very well frozen. You exposure paramentrs on your camera are great, too!
It's incredible that you managed to get so close that you ised a macro lens...wow! How did you do it?
Also, this is indeed a great way to practice and keep sharp for the next series of in-flight dragonflies :)

Just for my curiosity, i made a workshop with a different compo...hope you don't mind :)
Anyway, it's an outstanding work!
