I was fascinated with these iron rich mountains that lent so much color to the vistas in this part of Colorado. I also liked the yellow alder(?) next to a still green aspen... unwilling to let go of summer just yet. It seems that each area and species has its own narrow window of autumn color and it is hard to time it correctly... particularly when traveling long distances.

hi evelynn
very good job for this new one
very good contrast and colors , very good composition
just one thing , sharpness could be better but it's a detail

aleks ;-)
best wishes

Hi Evelynn!

I like this picture of the iron rich mountains as much as the earlier one. The colors are superb, even if there's not much light. I like indirect lighting.

I'm specially concerned by this picture because I have made a series of pictures in orange granite rocks. These rocks got their color from oxidation because of the iron. If you are interested, have a look at my posting
posting granite

Kind regards

Hello Evelynn,
Wonderful autumn colours and a well composed presentation!
The view to the summit is nicely framed by the trees, and the dramatic sky tells the story of the season!

Hi Evelynn,
It's amazing the colours seen at the top of the mountain.
So intense and deep orange!
You were right to shot at this scene, the intense yellow tree at the left makes a so great contrast with the green one to the right.
Even the gray sky have no relevance here due to the vivid tones on the other parts of the picture.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
Happy thanksgiving to you and family.
Best regards,

Hi Evelynn

Lovely acid yellows and rich ochres on the mountain (it could be rhyolite ?). Well composed / balance of colours and elements.

I am back home again - as of tuesday - just in California for a break - and to use up some airmiles which would have expired!

Hello Evelynn,
Good composition in rich colouration of autumn glory!
good pov of the mountains in total sharpness, vivid colour and details

Hello Evelynn, sharp detailed shot lovely colours a blue sky background would be nice to contrast with the gorgeous leaf colours but the peak colours make up for it what a beautifull place tfs this rgds Necip.

Hello Evelynn,
Amazing color palette, in this beautiful scene well captured with your great camera work. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Evelynn,
I love the way a cloudy day diffuses light in a way that impacts colour as your shot shows. One might expect all to be dull and and gray but your shot clearly shows that is not so.Good details and shadowless colours with a muted focus make this a good view. Thanks for sharing another one of your landscapes that have a distinctive look about them-your signature style.I have noticed that the more I view peoples photos here on TN,those that have been on the site sometime have developed a style uniquely their own and it is hard to pin down just what it is but looking at some photos says this is another original by... Hi Evelynn,
Awesome shot with such stunning colours and details. That iron rich mountain looks majestic. Superb lighting and exposure and I like the natural surrounding here. Excellent POV to portray this charming scene and very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hi Evelynn,
What a pleasant capture! The palette of Autumn colors and iron rich reds of the mountain make it grand. The bit of snow on the mountain's sheer face tops it off nicely :)
Well composed & Very well done.

Hi Evelynn,
Another view...with amazing colours!
Well done

I don't know how I miss some of your images,
But this is a lovely landscape,
Great capture of these colors,

I don't travel enough to get such beautiful landscape. I need to go with you shooting some day. :) Your landscape photos are absalutely stunning. Your composition on this shot is brilliant. Colors pop, and the clouds give a wonderful mood to this shot. Great image.

Hello Evelynn

This is beautifully composed with such lovely autumnal colours.
The face of the mountain with the hint of snow is terrific and the stand of yellow alders is super.
The shot is so bright even though the sky looks overcast.
What a shame that this season lasts such a short time.

Hi Evelynn,
I am trying to remember if I've seen these red rocks. But its hard when it is more then 8 years ago. I was in the area of Breckenridge and Winterpark and visited Vail for one day. I like the contrast between the mountain and the trees and I think that the grey sky enhanced this even more.
