[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is Zambar, a almost fully grown male Amur Tiger who lives at Marwell Zoo near Winchester in Hampshire. He was born at the zoo, but was rejected by his mum and badly bitten, resulting in him being removed from his mum and reared separately. Having so much human contact he takes more of an interest in the humans around him, and for some reason, when he was a cub, decided that I was his friend. Every time I went to the zoo he would come over to me, woofing quietly, rubbing himself against the wire and try to play. Much to the amusement of the other photographers, he would follow me along the cage wire, stand still when I did, play hide and seek around the bushes and generally act a clown.

As he has got older, he has become lazier and more like a real tiger should be, although even now he will wake up when I "woof" at him, raise his head and say hello back, usually going straight back to the serious tiger business of sleeping, although occasionally he will come over to the wire for a chat.

Hi Miles,
Tigers are among my favourit animals (my chinese sign is Tiger) they are so beautiful.
This is a fine portret, with an intensive look in the eyes and yes he seems to recognise you.
This look is probably what makes it different from other tiger photos.
Further perfect.

Hello Miles,
Zambar looks a bit old and wise. Doesn't look as he's going to make a kill soon...;-)

Hi Miles
Really very good
Congratulation for photograph
