[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These last weeks, I didn't have many photographic opportunities - when I go to work it is night, when I come home it is night again, and during the week-ends it is grey and raining... So, as I have many many pictures in my archives which I didn't post yet, I decided to post an older picture today.

I met this beautiful dragonfly during a hot summer afternoon. I was walking on a small path that was running between forest on left side and countryside on right side, very close to my house.

Then suddenly, I hear an insect in the bushes. I looked but I saw nothing. Just when I was starting to walk away, I heard the insect again, and this time he moved a little so I could see him. It was this beautiful dragonfly.

He was sitting on a strand of grass, looking at me with his big red eyes, without moving. I took some pictures, then I got some closer, than I took some more pictures, I got a little closer, and so on until I could not get any closer because of a thorny bush. The dragonfly id not move during all this time, he was a wonderful model for me.

After my meeting with the dragonfly, I met several other insects - butterflies, bees and bumblebees, but none was cooperative like him.

I have absolutely no idea about the ID of this dragonfly. He was quite small (between 3 and 5 cm), and I met him in the bushes, approximately 100 meters away from the closest water. Any help would be welcome if anybody knows his name...

Hi Valerie,

I'm glad to see you're still here at TN. I can't help with this fellow's name but he is a beautiful little creature and sounds most cooperative too :-) A nice capture, great colours and detail. There are some hotspots on the whites of the grass, always a problem in bright sunlight so perhaps not much you could do. The area you live in sounds wonderful, I have nothing but miles of concrete and roads.

Best Regards,
Adrian

Coucou Valerie,
très belle photo de cette libellule, j'aime bien le point de vue qui nous montre bien ces gros noeunoeuils tout rouges, très bon focus avec une profondeur de champs idéale
bravo
amicalement,
Pat

Bonsoir Valery,
A very good POV of this dragonfly!
I like the pose caught and the vivid red of its eyes.
A little over exposed on the branch side, but the wonderful green background compensates it and looks great for the picture.
Felicitacions et merci du partage.
Mes amities,
JM

Hola Valerie,
Tus libélulas son mucho más colaboradoras que las mías, ¡será el calor! :-) Original punto de vista y composición.
Un saludo,

Hi, dear Valerie.
It is a pity that you must go to work in night and return home again to night. But I hope you like your work. And I like your photos. It is a bit OE but it is not a point. Dragonfly is reproduced perfectly. BG is wonderful too as well as the composition, POV and framing. My compliments and best wishes.
Alexei.

Hi Valerie, what a pretty one:) i love these cratures so much since their unique structures and behaviours amongst the insects. You captured this beauty in a fine composition from frontal POV MF!
TFS and cheers,
Bayram
