[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Netherlands is a crowded country and space is limited. Especially is towns and cities the planners need to be creative with space. In Sittard the local stream 'the Keutelbeek' is led underneath the city in a kind of tunnel. Above ground level are all buildings. In a monitoring route in the tunnel we saw these Daubenton's bat Myotis daubentonii on the underside of this lid. Just above is the shopping street with lots of people. Would the people in the streets ever know???

Hello Jacob,
Wow, this is amazing!! You'd expect to find these in distant cave away from man! You got a brilliant shot of this little crowd! Sharp details and fine colours. Well composed too.
Very interesting!
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Hola Jacob.- Interesante foto.

Frieda.

Hello Jacob,
This is a remarkable find!
Though the Daubaenton's Bat is widespread it is amazing to find a roosting place in the heart of a densly populated area and you made a fine flash capture of this roosting group with good details and sharpness.
Well done and thanks for sharing this shot,
Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year to you and your family,
Ivan

Wishing you and your love ones the joyous Happy New Year...

Cheers,
Cecilia

Hello Jacob

A very good capture of these bats. The way they gather is unique and very symmetrical.Almost like billiards ready to be broken.
The one guy has his wing stretched out looks like he is waving at you.
Well focused with sharp details.
Great job.
TFS
