Happy 2008! Eventually...:-)

This is a female Impala. Background shouldn't always be blurred or neutral IMO; I admit the latter often adds to isolate the subject and enhance the beauty of the image.
On the other hand, for example content wise it is maybe better to display the background especially in terms of showing the environment, habitat, etc.
This image shows for example the Kruger National Park wilderness; the ever changing wilderness.
Concerning the latter, I read that the effect of global warming on Kruger is unknown. How could we know that? This is impossible.

For more info about Impala and other Kruger antelopes, I refer to my Kruger National Park link....
Also concerning itinerary, weather conditions, etc., I refer to that link as the images are there sorted chronologically.

Hello Annick,
What a wonderful picture to start 2008.
Excellent capture, Happy New Year to you
and your loved ones.

Everton

the mere fact that the tree trunk and subject are in perfect focus with further back OOF is super. This puts the animal where it lives doesn't it? An environmental image of this speed demon.
Bob

Hi Annick,
What a realistic congratulation! :-D
I like this clear capture of the Impala, standing so gracefully in front of that mature -or already death?- tree.
Wish you all the best in this new upcoming year.
Warm regards,
JM

Hallo Annick,
Ben het volkomen met je eens wat betreft de achtergrond. Vooral wanneer deze zo is als op deze foto. Geweldig. De (wat angstige?) impala steekt er prachtig tegen af.
Groet,
Peter
