|The flowers of this micromeria are only 3-5 mm in size. The ones shown here I found to be especially nice in the sunshine on a natural dark background of the woods. M. fruticosa [Labiaceae] is very aromatic. The leaves in boiling water make a lovely “tea”, to which people ascribe medicinal properties (good for colds, stomach ache; also as an atiseptic). According to the flora it blooms from April to October, but you can find blooning much later as with this specimen. |
