Hi Marie,

This is such a pretty bird and your close-up is wonderful. Beautiful colors, details, and textures. The usual dirty beak - but this time with snow. He looks verrrrry cold.

la photo est très réussie malgré des conditions qui je pense étaient difficiles, le moins que l'on puisse dire c'est que ce petit glouton n'a pas l'air d'avoir chaud !!!
Le focus est excellent avec de très beaux détails dans le plumage , jolies couleurs également et image bien composée,

I suggest several sessions at weight-watchers and to cut down on the fatty sun-flower seeds! ;)
This is a tremendous capture of this very plump (though probably just fluffed-up) Grosbeak!
The eye-contact is superb.
Great POV that is right at the same level as the bird.
Gorgeous colours and lighting.
Great exposure.

Belle capture de ce durbec, tu nous le présentes avec d'excellents détails dans son plumage tout gonflé. Travailler avec la neige n'est pas toujours facile et ici tu t'en sosrs très bien , les couleurs du durbec sont très naturelles. Bravo!

Hi Marie,

He looks like a very cold little fellow. Te colours are amazing, he's almost purple. The detail in the feathers are great and the pov shot on - you much have been pretty much lying down in the snow! A shot definitely worth getting cold for.

Bonjour Marie, j'adore ce joli durbec assis tranquillement sur la neige. Les couleurs sont très belles, très naturelles, et on voit beaucoup les détails du plumage. J'aime le gris de la lumière, très hivernale. On voudrait le tenir dans les mains et lui donner des ptits becs sur le bec. Merci!

Well, Marie, this seems a fitting subject for a $1,000 bill. Wouldn't mind seeing one of those :)

Very attractive coloration here, and you present it admirably. You have pleasing sharpness and detail, nice depth-of-field control. The white balance on the snow is great. You might perhaps have cropped more from the top of the image -- it's arguably either slightly overexposed or more border than you really need at the top, given the lack of detail thhere.
