Maintenance in captivity: Its maintenance in captivity demands a series of cares and expenses. The illumination in internal terrários needs to reproduce rays UV-B, without which the animal will not survive for many months, therefore it will not make the calcium synthesis. These light bulbs, of the fluorescent type, present only one year of useful life. As heat source, it can be used ceramics heaters, warm, on rocks, or plates uninterruptedly e, of preference, associates to a thermostat with sensor. As substratum, the some types of carpetings, as bark or carpets (atóxicos), they have good results. The food must be offered in the center of a plastic plate of about 20 centimeters. Of this form, it is scrumbled possibility of the animal to swallow the substratum, case the food falls. The terrário must be ample and with trunks and twigs in abundance. It is important that it has the great water Cuba in its interior to assist in the humidity levels, to drink and for the bath, if it to desire it. The water always must be changed that she will be dirty. It needs to be displayed to the artificial or solar ultraviolet rays so that it can be developed well and with health. As to clean the terrário: To clean the terrários, it is enough to pass a cloth humidified with water to each three days and to collect excrements with a spatula. Not to use products as alcohol, chlorine, deodorant (that it is not of specific use for terrariofilia), detergent or ECT, therefore they can cause poisoning. Source: Pet Center Delinquent.
