We were shooting this Black Bear eating dandelions along the Maligne Lake Road when he suddenly sat down, rolled over and scratched his belly. We had a great laugh about his need to scratch was so bad he had to get it and then the look on his face was one of delight when he got relief, sound familiar.

There is a saying.."Home is where you can scratch where it itches." So I reckon this big one is at home now...Very candid shot and well done notations. Nice to know he is at home...and so all will be home one day...there is no intervening in the future..there is another saying Rick..."When you save a mans life, you become responsible for that man"...Sometimes things work out for the best...God Speed!

I just can't believe that you can observe bears in the wild like this... What a nice and cute picture. I can understand that you had a good laugh! Look at those paws! I never had the chance to see bears in the wild. It is almost like we were living in different countries :) Well done!

Hello Rick
A lovely animal and sounds like it really knew how to give you an exhilarating treat. The satisfaction is clearly identifiable on that face. Those paws are most impressive and I understand these guys can cut you up as if its knife blades they're holding. Very nice pose and photo.

The bears sure do go for the dandelions in spring. I've heard that they are quite nutritious. It is an amusing capture. Well done. Shooting wildlife can cause such an adrenalin rush.

I've not been very active on TN lately as I am trying to configure a new computer system and it is giving me fits. Hope I can get back to a routine in a few days!

Hi Rick

This is a pose 'to die for' and the sort where one tends to fumbble with the camera - but you got it! Wonderful shot and great detail.
