Ross`s Gull (Rhodostethia rosea)
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A rare visitor from the high arctic; Ross`s Gull (Rhodostethia rosea). Normally this bird lives it's entire life north of the the arctic circle - most in north-eastern Siberia with a few scattered colonies in Canada, northernmost USA, Greenland and Svalbard.
Every now and then a bird of this species is spotted much further south than usual. This particular bird is a young bird (first winter) which currently is drawing hundreds of bird watchers to Esbjerg in Denmark where it is staying in the harbour area. |

Hej Lars,
A superb capture of a juvenile Ross's Gull, a species I have yet to see. Excellent sharpness and lighting.
Well done and thanks,
Ivan
Hello Lars
Superb picture of this rare bird! Light is great, the bird is perfectly frozen and a superb dark-blue BG of the sea! Very pleasing picture to look at.
