[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In Texas, summer means the song of the cicadas. Only the males sing. I found this one in the garden this fall, long after the song had faded for the year, and the fall of the leaves signaled the beginning of our winter. But as soon as the warm weather returns, they'll be back to provide the soundtrack of a southern summer.

Very nice job on this closeup shot. Great sharpness and good detail.
We have the cicadas here in Ohio also. They really come in groves out every 17 years and the sounds they make are something you will never forget.
Keep sending those pics.

Good job! His mouthparts are interesting! Their sound is amzing. TFS

Hello Sylvia,
very nice and close view of the cicada's 'face'. Depth of field is great bringing excellent sharpness to large parts of the insect.
Best wishes, Peter
