Well i had "Smoke on the water" not long ago and some people had wondered about the second part...here it is :)

This photo was actually taken before the "Smoke..." in the same say as the one right under it my gallery.
The scenery is pretty much the same, with some nice cloud formations and lovely colors created by the setting sun. This is looking a bit more to the north than the other one and facing straight to the Hungarian border.

As James nicely explained to me, the clouds here are some cirrus leading into cirro-stratus (thanks James). This is also why i'd like to take this chance to dedicate this shot to him, for his immense contribution to TN in terms of superb images, huge knowledge and...a mind-blowing number of photographed countries!

I also took a series of shots from this POV, that i stitched together and you can see the outcome here.

I hope you'll like it :)

My congratulations! Fantastic sky!

Yup! It is classic you...very nice addition...Smoke eh? How intriguing must have been a slight inversion in weather as well..

Hello Horia,
Smoke on the water. A fire in the sky. The next line in the lyrics I don't remember actually:-). So your next post will probably be a surprise, Horia;-)
Very good compo, good colours,...
Very moody image and well presented.

Hi Horia

Thanks for the dedication - I am very flattered. This is a superb shot - the colours and composition are both exquisite. You have captured what looks like an approaching 'front' very well. The clouds are cirrus leading into cirro-stratus - very beautiful.

Thanks again my friend,

James

BTW - I will be in Romania from 30 April.

Hello Horia,

Hi Horia!

When photography approaches painting, when a picture awakes emotions, when a cloudy sky becomes a dreamland, then the summit of the art of taking pictures is reached. You are that artist, you have the ability to make us dream and to fly away, to go inside us through your pictures.

And thank you for remembering us the lead song of one of the best pop group the world ever had: Deep Purple, Smoke on the Water... a song, that was born while the Casino of Montreux burnt down in 1971. I was young then, and a fan of Deep Purple...

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Horia,
To use a slightly worn out adjective - Awesome!
This is the kind of sky formation/colors one always hopes for, but rarely gets..A favorite, most assuredly :)
You did very well mf,
Howard

Hello again my freind,
nice to see your latest offering! i think the thing that strikes me here first, is the way the ice seems to almost merge with the sky in tone and colour...although that sky is very impressive in it's own right! You've taken full advantage of those clouds here, they are almost ghost like, ethereal even.
What i also like is the splash of yellow in the right hand side too...i am curious, was there more of this colour in the sky to be used? I only ask because perhaps it could've added more colour to the shot as a whole...although perhaps this is not the effect you wanted! Either way, this works for me beautifully...well done indeed, as always.

The wide angular worked great to have such cloud's formations in the way it is.
The subtle tones got are so delicate and transmits a peaceful sensation.
Very good the effect got with the filter and that gradations at the top of the image.

Hi Horia.
Once more art picture form you and excellent use of camera/lens features. Pictured scene are great but I see you in it and your skill. Great blur effect with extreme sharpness of the land (lake), terrific delicate colour palette. I feel the movements of the clouds. Bravo. Great work of landscape writer.

Fabulous and dreamlike landscape. Horia, those places you make us visit are fantastic and wonderful. I love those sceneries, you paint with light and very well, you could come from a lineage of painters that's old as history. You make me want to visit Romania... by showing us another side of this country that I find fascinating. Thank you!

Francine

Hi Horia, superb sky, splendid light and colors, wonderful composition, bravo, very well done, ciao Silvio

Another fine shot Horia, very nice composition, great colors and very good details, thanks!

Hello Horia,

This is surely one beautiful cloud formation. I like the colors along the horizon with white cloud bursting up the blue sky. The small islands make good perspective of this wide sky exposure shot.

Best regards and have a wonderful weekend.

Jusni

Hello Horia,
Two things captue my eyes here, first the amazingly beautiful pattern in the sky, next the wonderful and unusual colours of the same!
It is interesting to see how clouds in different altitudes are affected by the light, as the low ones remains in the shades...
A piece of art that also would look good on the wall!
Greetings,
Pablo -

This is a great shot Horia. I really like the stitched version also. It is quite dramatic. The wide angle really enhances the sweep of the clouds. I like the subtle colors too.

Nice work... TFS
Evelynn : )

A fantastic capture Horia, I like the way you kept the colours subtle in this. Love the formation of those clouds and the currents in the water. This is excellent, well done.

Hello Horia,
