This little Yellow Warbler collided with my house and landed on my deck, very stunned. She sat very still, eyes and beak opening and shutting for a few minutes, and I was very afraid it would not recover. Slowly it came around, started looking around a little and after about 15 minutes it flew away, hopefully okay. This was a close encounter of the nicest kind, but I'll bet she's got a hangover today! I finally saw the male and he has much heavier striping on his breast. Early evening, cloudy day.
Yellow warbler: Dendroica petechia, may be the species aestiva. These little birds are plagued with Catbirds laying their eggs in warbler nests. To compensate, the warblers have learned to build a second story nest on top of the first batch. Life will find a way!

Hi Linda, so sweet bird with great colors :)) ... it is a wonderful close up... beautiful pic.

exellente photo surtout pour un apareil non reflex !
le piqué de la photo est etonnant.
a quelle distance de l'animale te trouvais tu ?
nice done.

Very nice capture, Linda. I had a chickadee do the same thing yesterday, only he recovered a little quicker. It was funny (only now that he is ok), to watch him, as he blinked his eyes repeatedly and looked quite dazed as well. Wonderful photo thank you for sharing it.

Nice story Linda. This is a nice image. Great to get so close on your deck. Pretty wee bird with lovely plumage colours. Good sharpness. It would have been niv=ce to get down to his/her level though. Good work. Thanks

Great close-up shot of this warbler. Beru sharp details. Great exposure and composition. Well done, Linda. : )

Great shot Linda!
This fellow is really beautiful and you've captured it well. Maybe different POV would look better, but this one is good too.
Well done!

Belle et intéressante photographie pour ce petit oiseau jaune si mignon. Jolies couleurs dans le plumage et bonne netteté.
Nice & Well Done !

This warbler badluck made your lucky day as it looks. Very nice picture Linda. Colors, sharpness and pose are just fine. A lower point of view would have been better in my opinion.

Hello Linda what a beautifull bird ! i like the vivid colours & sharpness, dof & pov are excellent,

Very well composed :-)

Knocking them down to the ground, that's one way to take a good picture of birds, Linda, but please don't do it again or someone will report you to the humane society. Joke aside, this shot is nice and sharp with excellent detail and natural colours. Well done.

Hi Linda,
Your notes are great! I'm glad the little warbler flew away, and hopefully she is okay.

I love the detail of your photo, the colour is excellent. TFS Janice

Nice story and a very pretty picture of this warbler. Many sharp details in there.

Hiya Linda
Beautiful shot of this unfortunate little fella.
Really is a little cutie.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Dont know if you would consider this but i have a couple of "Native American" made dreamcatchers in my patio windows, they look good, are supposed to be good luck and they also let the birds know that there is something solid in their flightpath.
But then again you might not get such great photo opportunities as often.
Sorry - bad taste joke.

What a gorgeous bird Linda!!
I tried to get a decent shot of a Yellow Warbler all spring last year and never succeeded. This is an outstanding image!!
Love the fine detail and wonderful colors!! TFS.
I knew Cowbirds laid their eggs in other birds nest, but never realized that Catbirds did the same thing. Thanks for the info!
