Hi all!

I started the new year with nothing. A good start, isn't it? Actually, there's (almost) nothing on this picture except some liters of frozen water; can they be considered as anything? And what about the sunlight and the shadow?

Nothing... or at least not much.

It's the first time I realize how beautiful nothing (or not much) can be!

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Markus!
If I write my opinion about this photo in one sentence, it will be simply 'I like it very much'.

Really impressive shot. I like the shadow in the left - it seems to me that I can see a frozen planet flying somewhere in the space. What lens you used for this picture?

Very good inspiration, to photograph nothingness in all her beauty...

Hi Markus

A very beautiful composition - it looks simple but has obviously been very carefully thought out and captured.

Hi Markus!

Man, you are so tricky! Always coming out with something one could have never guessed... Now I can start to think what you're next picture will be about :)
Nowadays I work so much can get so tired that when I sit down to rest for a couple of minutes sometimes I suddenly realize I'm thinking of nothing. Never understood when my father told me it can happen when I was five.
Thanks for showing it is still a way of existance...

Best regards,
Andor

Hi Markus

What an striking abstract!
It's really strange how something that simple can make you look at it for uch a long time... :)
I LOVE the light here and the bigger and smaller shadows it creates. The intensity and angle of it are just terrific!
The composition is equally interesting and adds a bit more to the abstract of the shot.
Very nicely seen and taken, my friend!

Bravo and TFS

Once again another sublime shot, instantly recognisable in your style..you present us with 'nothing' and yet fill the frame with light, shadow, the transition between the two and incredible texture... Thanks Markus, you are a breath of fresh air and give us somewhere to sit, look and think of nothing!

Paul

Merci!

Francine

What interesting texture and gradation of size and light you captured here. The angle you shot this at, and the curve of the shadow, belie the subject and give it a spherical appearance. Thanks for "Nothing"!! : )

Evelynn : )

Hello Markus:

Never had seen "nothing" so nice. You have taught me what this magnificent picture of "nothing". Thanks for "nothing" friend of mine.

Hello Markus !
Well, this one's a strange picture and that's why I like it - very unusual. Maybe this is nothing, but it's a beautiful nothing. The light and the textures are wonderful, and the composition is truly perfect. Very well done !
Valerie.

Hello Markus.

water is so much more than nothing.
It is the very essence of our lives.
Without it we would not exist.
Some 75% of our planet is covered in water, but only 3% of it is drinkable and 50% of that is polluted by our existence here.
It is worth so much more than all the oil and all the gold that exists, yet mankind takes it for granted that it will always be there.
So maybe sometimes what we percieve as nothing is actually everything.
Its a nice photo and it provokes good discussion.
Thanks for sharing it.

Regards

Roy

Hello Markus,
Attractive texture in the snow!
Well exposed, this fine abstraction of nature is a treat to my eyes...
Accurate framing, to catch the shapes created by the play of light!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Markus,
Beautiful...is all i can say as i look at this very very original compositon.
Yes nothingness can be a lot ...can mean a lot...can make a lot of sense...the play of light and shade in thi creative composition that you posted to start this year.

I am delighted to have come across this one that brings out imagination at its best.Imagine this being gallons of water ..only thing being ...it is frozen and in this state water becomes a powerful medium of artistic expression.I like the the contours of the frame, the duotones and the crisp shot that has captured this moment in an excellent mood.
TFS & Cheers

Hy Markus
You really think that this is nothing?? No, this is the simplest picture that I saw in my entire life! Excelent picture!
Regards, Oana

Dear Markus,
