Hi Goutham . This is a bird i have not seen before so thanks for posting. great detail and colour with a good POV/DOF. you haveuse the light so well. I have just got the Sigma 180 macro and have tried it with some bird shots .well done TFS.

Very nicely done! Black birds of any kind are always difficult to photograph and show its detail, but obviously it wasn't difficult in this case! You've got a great composition with excellent DOF. Awesome work.
BTW, it is interesting that you mention using your car as a hide. I used it on several occasions and it works wonderfully. To anyone who hasn't tried it, here are the results. It works!

hi goutham,

I heard u had a blast of time on sunday...and of course the picture speaks of it in volume. there is a patch just underneath the eye of the bird..is it dirt or a gash received during territorial fights.

Delightful capture of the Black Drongo, Goutham.
The entire bird is in sharp focus, but the eye in particular is absolutely stunning.

This is a lovely shot of the the Black Drango..(a totally new bird to me)..you have captured him superbly with the black fine and richly detailed..Not easy to do!!...You also have a lovely graduated background which highlights him superbly..Top Work and tfs.

Goutham, Has the 180mm ever failed? Great picture. Love the details on the tail. A soft light would have helped in lighting up the belly of the Drango.
