Hallo Karan
What an adorable, endearing and cute little animal. This is definitely a photo to ooh and aah about. It has a high cuteness factor, with a real innocent "Stuart Little" movie character face (Although the character was a mouse). This is a stunning portrait and deserves a round of applause. I like the big black eyes, the longish whiskers and that round dark brown snout. I appreciated and enjoyed this one tremendously. This was a first for me. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

Hi Karan
This is a BEAUTY!!!!
Splendid frontal portrait of this adorable stoat!
I actually don't mind that you used a very shallow DOF - you focused well on the eyes and they are definitely the key elements here! Wonderful contrast here between them and the rest of the white fur (but i also see he/she had put a little make-up on :))
Very nice soft BG, too to bring your subject out even better, great exposure and lovely colors everywhere!
Superb job!
Bravo and TFS

Hi Karan,
And the outcome was the best!
Outstanding capture of this stoat, the expression on his face is so candid.
The DOF works pretty well, I want to go for that lens also.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

What a darling!! For such a quick shot you have captured him perfectly Karan. I love those large eyes too.
Yes he'd make a lovely fur coat, maybe only a patch on the coat - they must have to kill a lot to make one coat!! Sad, isn't it?
Cheers

Nice capture Karan, I was there on Saturday, the light was even worse but still managed some good images. They do move fast and although these are captive it is still difficult to get anything decent, so well done you. Did you manage to get any of the Weasels? cause they are even quicker, I'm sure they are on Red Bull..!!

Hi Karan
Excellent composition/ POV with wonderful detail and well handled exposure. I often take things at higher speed than I would like - I would rather sacrifice a little sharpness etc - I may never see it again! :)

Hi Karan!
What a cute portrait of so nice and interesting species. I also hope that you survived meeting with this mammal without any "bad feeling" (as I know it can smell not very nice ;>).
All the best from Lodz,

Hello Karan,
Surprised? Disappointed?
Anyway, a funny fellow has been captured!
Years ago I used to see some of those during the winter but not anymore, howvere that can well be because I don't spend so much time in their habitat now...
A lovely composition with great details!

hello Karan
superb shot with excellent timing shooting this cute animal
in the only few seconds that the stoat posed for you,
he is very curious and have a great eye-contact with you,
i always shoot at higher shutter speed for 2 reasons :
- my camera not having image stabilizer
- the birds and animals being always in movement

Hello Karan,
Even with little sacrifice on DOF, the image of the subject is so stunning with good crispy sharpness. Excellent details around the head and I like the whiskers and the eyes. Very well pose behind the fallen tree and nicely presented here on TN.

Hi Karan, you are a great photographer, your pictures are always beautiful and interesting or fun to look at. You are very meticulous and caring and it shows in your work. This shallow depth of field is fantastic in this case, it puts the accent on the eye of this lovely creature. Very well done, it's a beauty! Thank you,
Francine

Hi Karan,
he may have been quick, but you were just as fast here! You've certainly made the most of the opportunity and even though the DOF isn't massive, it's certainly there where it counts. Impressive portrait with wonderful detail of a creature most of us will never see in the wild.

Simpática y excelente toma Karan. A la "inocencia" en la expresión del animal se une ese color tan bien captado que es realmente impresionante. Buena luz y encuadre. A mi modo de ver un buen trabajo ( y al de los demás viendo los votos que tienes jeje).

Many kudos, Karan, on a truly endearing shot of an ermine in mid-molt! The soft wetness of the eyes and the ever-so-slight green reflection add so much life and heart to this picture!
Miss Piggy: Don't be fooled. This little guy/girl may be cute, but he/she'd eat Stuart the moment he/she set eyes on him.
Janice: for King George V's coronation, he had a robe made of ermine fur. It took 50000 (count it - 5 X 10^4) ermine skins to make it.
Lizzie & Henryk Bilor: As cute and adorable as he/she is (can't tell the gender unless you know either the creature's size or its genitals), the only domesticated stoats must be hand-reared from birth. Otherwise. it's like bringing a miniature wildcat into the house: all hell will break loose, and woe betide any pets!
Cicindela: Stoats (and all other mustelids) only squirt as a last resort - after all, they have a more sensitive sense of smell than humans, so the stench would affect them even more!
(If ya can't tell, I like stoats! ^.^)
