My Homeland in the Himalayas

Friends, when it starts getting hotter here in New Delhi, I start missing my cool homeland in the mountains.
I am posting a picture of my native place today, mainly to express my sense of nostalgia.
The partial view of moutains from the window of my house and looking east shows a bit of the Lesser Himalayas that go by the name of Pir Panjal extending from Jammu and Kashmir into north western Himachal Pradesh.
The picture is not up to the mark technically.
Still, I could not resist putting it up today.

I will visit my native place in May/June this summer. I intend to bring back some good landscape pictures after the vacation and share them with you.
In the meanwhile, thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Hi Ram,
I can feel the cool fresh air of this high mountain of your homeland. Beautiful landscape and nice blue sky.

Hello Ram,
A dramatic landscape, where the V-shaped valley with the steep hillsides draws my eyes!
The beauty of the place is well captured, and the image has a great feeling of depth, making me want to have a look over the mountains...

Hi Ram,
looks like a great place to escape the hot summer in the city and a great place to get a lot of great nature photos.
Your choice to show off the scenery is excellent, great POV to lead our eyes towards the snow covered mountain. Great deatph and the scenery is wonderful.

I understand that Jammu Kashmir is almost a military state now from my Punjabi friends here in the US. It was suggested that I not go there if I went this summer....and of course things didn't work out anyway...As with Tibet and problems with China...these remote areas filled with glaciers and snows and legends and myths and perhaps Shangrila etc...they all amaze me...and I cannot figure out why they would be worth anything in a military way except for folks to hide...crazy...all that beauty in the world...but I suppose if your a Native and a Thakur, you know the tricks if it is your home....but me? I would be a foreign national...a bit scary eh? I will have to suffice with your images and stories Ram...thanks for sharing them and please do more..

Hi Ram.
I think and technically and artistically shot is excellent. It is full of love to this place and show great taste of its author. I like selected POV and framing of the image, nice lighting, amazing haze covering the mountains, charming cloudy sky and impressive mountain slopes. My hearty wishes and TFS. Well done.

Dear Ram,
What a stunning landscape, D.O.F goes on for ever, from tree covered hills to snow capped mountains, wonderful composition, beautiful colours, well framed, Cheers Rick :)
