Hi Smitha,
A wonderful dedication to Bayram - he will love this snake. I've not seen a Rat Snake before and this is a beauty. Excellent details - the skin and eye are marvelous. Beautiful colors but he does look rather threatening.

Hi Smitha.
The depth of field really defined the tongue and outlines of this snake. I like the details, and the fact you got it in that position.
I am glad to hear they are not killed.
I must peruse your gallery much more.

Hi Smitha
Great timing here. Good detail and excellent use of your POV. Lovely dedication too.

The forked tongue of a snake frightens me, Smitha. As a matter of fact, I am terrified of snakes despite the fact that my people in the hills of Himachal have a snake god as their village deity.
It is a perfect capture of the snake's head-side and its forked tongue.
Wonderful sharpness and colours.
Releasing the snake was a good gesture.
I don't think I will ever kill an animal except a mosquito :-)!
Regards,
Ram

Hi Smitha, love the timing here to catch that tongue. The snake is in excellent detail giving good sharp clarity on the eye, scales and the tongue of course. Colour throughout is great with an excellent composition with him just entering the frame.
Thanks, John

Hallo Smitha
Snakes are not my favourite topic, but this snake is beautiful. (Can snakes ever be regarded as beautiful?) The focus is absolutely stunning. I consider this as a perfect portrait, with stunning clarity and sharpness. Perfect exposure resulting in perfect detail and colour. The detail of the eye and nostrils are really super, not to mentioned that tongue and the scales are so clear, I can count them one by one if I want to. Thanks for sharing dedicated photo and very interesting note. I am sure Bayram will be much appreciative.
Kind regards
Anna
Very good photo but it has too much purple colour that it would be better if removed. I'll make a WS if you don't mind.
Nice pov and composition.

Hi Smitha,
I was really afraid when you said, you shot a snake...and was curious to watch the image... how it would be in frame....
This is SUPERB composition, and the natural moods are well captured.

Hello Smitha,
Excellent close head portrait of a Rat Snake showing its forked tongue and eyes with super sharpness. The natural green OOF BG is a great contrast and the composition is superb. There is absolutely nothing to indicate that this snake was confined inside a net, which makes the photo skillfully done.
Thanks for sharing this fine image,
Best wishes, Ivan

Hi Smitha,
Wow what an excellent capture, they say timing is everything and this is just perfect, amazing detail, wonderful colours, that very narrow d.o.f has isolated it beautifully, and yes like Ram Snakes are not on of my favorite subject's, if I do spot one I'm more then likely heading in the opposite direction really fast :)
Cheers Rick :)

Hi Smitha,
Congrats on your first snake pic! Its very kind of anil to leave this snake unharmed. I just had an incident near my house today where construction workers had killed this wonderful snake and i was furious , but ur pic has rekindled my spirits!
Excellent clarity and that forked tongue popping out is an added bonus :-)

Hello Smitha,
Excellent close-up of this Rat Snake for Bayram! Grat focuson the eye and fine sharp details. A nice background too. - I'm really impressed by the fact that on the whole you don't kill snakes in India. I remember in Goa they remove them from tourist areas to a safe place where they cannot harm people nor be harmed - a splendid idea!
Many thanks, Ulla
