scorpion fish (Pterois volitans) photographed in Nausicaa (Boulogne-sur-Mer) .It is a very malignant fish of the family of Scorpaenidae. It is also called fish scorpion or fish lion or else fish of fire. It measures about 38 cm.It measures about 38 cm. His colouring is variable according to its habitat. For instance, kinds forms are darker and more almost black in estuaries. It has malignant back, anal and pelvic prickles.His injection is very painful. This venom is destroyed par warmth.
