Shiny

I could take an hour off for a walk in the forest today, where I found this shiny little insect. I think it might be of Subfamily Donaciinae (Aquatic Leaf Beetles), but it's not a very wet area. If you have any IDea please let me know!

Some flashlight added and a monopod was used to take the photo.

------------

Based on Gert's help I update the species to be Phyllobius argentatus.

Best regards,
Andor

Hi Andor,

A nice capture of this metallic bug, with good colors and details,I think however that the impact of this capture could have been improved if the beetle was a bit off centered, for example by cropping a bit from the left side, anyway tffs and have a nice weekend

Paul

Hi Andor!

Hmm, your palette of photography is getting larger... insects now! Such a difficult subject. I have tried many times, still no satisfying results. But you present us a beautiful little monster that looks as if you had sprayed it with carneval colours!

:-)

I'm kidding. But it's a fact that the colours are surprising and amazing.

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Andor,
Seems like this little bugger has put her best dress on..!
The finer details in the shiny appearance is well captured, narrow DoF works well and isolates the insect nicely...
A well balanced composition!
Greetings,
Pablo
