Hello again (after quite some time) :)

It's great to be back even for a short while and post a shot here. I hope you all were busy and took a lot of beautiful shots while i was away :) I hope to find the time and see them soon...

This week i came back from a SPLENDID trip to England, where i had the pleasure to meet with some friends from TN. I see most of them have already posted some shots from our outing, so you can probably find out more about how our weekend went from there notes as well :)

I must tell you i had an amazing time and i tried squeezing in as many of the sites as possible for the short amount of time i had to stay there. I had a fantastic guide - Paul Haynes - who took me to many of the great places on "his" share of the Dorset coast and then we met Nick Glen, Jai Glen, Paul Lawbert and Joe Kellard and went on some macro shooting. I came back home with lots of great photos, beautiful memories and, probably most importantly, having made some terrific friends :) I thank all of them for their hospitality and kindness!

This shot was taken on my day out with Paul Hanes (PaulH) and it was probably one of the greatest days of shooting i've ever had! Even though the weather wasn't really on our side (as you can easily see), Paul and i hiked a lot of places and had a splendid time exploring the wonders of the Jurassic coast.
This particular place is probably my favorite of them and this is why i'm dedicating this photo to my very good friend and hopefully :) my guest soon, PAUL! Cheers mate!

On the downside: after i returned from my lovely holiday, my "nice" colleagues have burried me in papers and works so i will be offline again for about 1-2 weeks. But i do promise that after i will be finally finished with my master's degree, i will return to a more active participation here on TN :)

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Horia,
I see you have been to Dorset. great that you could meet up with some of our TN friends.
As Ulla and I have lived in Dorset for few years we know it pretty well, but that was a long time ago.
This is a great landscape showing the Jurassic Coast with fine colours of the flora and lichens in the FG. Despite the cloudy day this has a fine perspective of that stretch of the coastline, which makes it a great tribute to Paul.
TFS this fine image, Horia and it's nice to seee you back in action on TN.
Best wishes, Ivan

Hello Horia
Despite the weather you have captured a captivating scene here with perfect framing.
You indeed had a superb guide and friend in Paul and this is a great dedication to him.
It was a pleasure to meet you and everyone else on sunday..I hope you had as good a day as I had.
I am sure you will breeze through your Masters.
All the Best

A stunning landscape shot Horia. The perspective is wonderful I think I have to visit Dorset this end of year. It would be nice to see this scenery with my eyes. TFS friend!

Hi Horia

I was waiting to see a nice Dorset shot from you. This is lovely with a great POV and excellent composition. I love all the FG details you caught with all the spring flowers. The poor weather gave you an interesting sky.

Lovely dedication to Paul.

Good luck with the paperwork

Hello Horia,
Very good image. Excellent depth in your work and so well composed. A very subtle compo; your trademark.
Great to see your Dorset interpretation
Good dedication to your guide.
Well written note...

This is an absolutly stunning shot..As a matter of fact, it looks so a la Paul, but it also contains youe signature style.A truly explosive combination. The land looks so clear, colourful and pristine, while the BG of the grey clouds and the sea seem to hold a lot of mystery...
Very well done, my friend..

Hello Horia,

good dedication and great shot.
Very nice pov and composition.
That's the plac you wanna be.

I would send ya a .Dot Org T-shirt but Joey got the very last one3...Congrats on a fine trip. I have often wondered at what you would do if you and Paul were to get together in England...or vis versa but this is just what I expected and shows how we can apply our own techniques so well to others locations...!

Well, Horia, you two are much the same! At first, I thought this was one of Paul's postings!
This area seems to be idyllic for photography, though, of course, the photographer is of more than equal importance!
The viewpoint is well chosen. The flowers hold initial interest and then the eyes are guided to follow the triangle of jutting land deeper into the shot!
The details are excellent and the subdued colours match the day perfectly. A bright sky is not always necessary, these clouds add atmosphere.

Paul will be thrilled with this!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hey Horia..There you are - Stranger :)
Sounds like you had a wonderful time of it in England, it must've been great to hook up with some TN pals of like mind.
This is an excellent post mf, love it.
It sounds like the vacation is over, back to the old grindstone.
But having that masters should help to open some doors for you.
Good luck,

great scene, and nice colors. The coloudy skies makes for a nice moody feel to this, since there is detail in the clouds it looks interesting

Hello Horia,
I'm glad to hear that you had a great time in Dorset as it's a lovely place we know well.
You also managed to get a really fabulous capture of this dramatic coastline from a fine POV from the edge of the cliff! I love the depth in this and the beautiful foreground with yellow lichens and the flowers clinging on to the rocks. Wonderful colours and a very fine composition.
Many thanks for showing this and best wishes, Ulla

Hey Horia!
Great to see you got back alright.
It was great to meet you and I hope you enjoyed your England trip :-)
Very good landscape photo!
You've cleverly used the headland as a lead-in line and the beautiful flowers as great FG interest.
Superb clarity and lots of detail.
The moody sky is the icing on the cake.
Very good work and I hope to see more from you soon... good luck with the papers :-)

Cheers mate,

Hi Horia,
well i can't see any Peregrine Falcons, but the view is awesome! Great capture mate, you managed to pluck a beautiful shot out of very adverse conditions, and this is a very faithful to the scene as how we encountered it. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time here(even if it was a bit hectic) and i wish i had more time to show you all the other great spots that we missed. Maybe next time??
Cheers and thanks so much for this lovely dedication, see you next year!

Hi Horia
Very nice landscape and very nice place, in a few days I "flying" to Edimburg...... Although I do not participate much in the Web, if that I see your photos and I also visit your Web.

Hi Horia,
I was waiting for your first photo from your visit to Paul. Its great to see a different POV from this area. It shows that even with two photographers standing close to each other their approach is different. it leaves me with some hope when ever I will visit the area.
I really like your composition, with a good FG and a perfect leadline. Eventhough it was a cloudy day, the clarity of the photo is splendid.

P.S. good luck with the heap of work..I know how it is.
