[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello, yeterday it was the drake Wood Duck
and today here is it the female of yeterday's drake,
less beautiful than yesterday's photo but i loved too
this image of the perched wood duck and want to share it

again from the « Ducks Unlimitted Canada » website
here is a little text on the Wood Ducks and the Wood Duck female

« The female is a drab version of the male but is nonetheless
more striking than any other duck hen. Dabblers or
surface feeders, wood ducks nest in tree cavities.
But since they cannot make their own cavities, they depend
on tree diseases, fire scars, lightning, and cavity-making
birds like pileated woodpeckers for nest sites.
They also use man-made nest boxes. »

This photo was shot 3 minutes after yesterday's one
in maunal focus, JPEG format and ISO400
with my SLR-like Fujifilm bridge camera

my next posting will be #200

#200 eh? Wow how time flies...Les temps vont rapidement. Il n'arrête jamais ! Si j'ai eu un souhait. Je souhaiterais être des jeunes encore...a fine image for today Mr Asbed...or A as we call you in smaller circles:-) c'est une plaisanterie

Hello Asbed,
Another nicely composed capture of this spectacular waterfowl. Very nice BG, POV with excellent sharpness and exposure. Can't wait to see what #200 will bring. TFS Thomas

Hello Asbed,

This are difficult birds to photograph, it seems that they always sitting on trees and between branches.
You captured her good in her natural habitat.

Hi Asbed
I think the females have a nice quality too.
I like the eyes on them, and if you look close, the blue feathers on wings give a good beauty.
I like the way you took this up in the tree. Many do not know these ducks nest in trees, and are about the only ones that do.

Hello Asbed, I am not used to seeing ducks in trees, but you have shown us all kinds of them. This is a good looking female Wood Duck, positioned well in the frame. Good colour and detail seen on this lady.

Thanks, John

Hi Asbed another amazing beautiful Wood Duck capture my friend! I think you loved this bird like me as herptiles :). Really I loved this shot in all aspect! Thus it should be take its place in my favs. TFS.

Bellissima immagine, un poco più disturbata rispetto alla precedente ma ugualmente bella la composizione ambientata, ottima definizione dei dettagli, belli i colori e la luce. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hello Asbed,
It is good to see the picture of a duck perching on a tree instead of swimming in the water.:)Nice capture with a lovely POV and pose. Good details and colours.
Thanks for the share,

Hi Asbed,

Not less beautiful, just different. The females have a quieter beauty. Wonderful pose - I love the way she is standing on the branch. Nice colors and details and a lovely setting. I can't wait to see what you saved for tomorrow.

The master of the Wood Ducks! You've got a very enjoyable image here Asbed, one that compliments the male Wood Duck very nicely. It shows this duck in its natural habitat - something that is very important to me in nature photography. Well done my friend.
