Maybe it's a female, but this certainly is a juvenile. Great work with a handheld 400 mm and strong wind. Excellent sharpness and details. Beautiful natural colours. Good composition.

Bonjour Laurent,
A superb sharp capture of a Godwit from a fine low POV against a good OOF natural BG.
But I don't think this is Black-tailed.
This is the Bar-tailed godwit (Limosa lapponica) for the following reasons:
The bill is slightly shorter and slightly upturned.
Th white eyebrow is long.
The are some black streaks on the belly.
As this bird still has winter plumage it is a young non-breeding individual.

Cet oiseau à l'allure décidée est bien charmant. Ton cadrage est excellent et les couleurs du plumage bien rendues par une lumière adéquate. Bel arrière-plan aussi. J'aime bien la petite vaguelette au premier plan.

The shallow DOF has done an awesome job at blurring the BG and the focusing is spot-on.

Comme tu le dis si bien , le résultat est impeccable, belle luminosité et bravo d' avoir pu trouver cet oiseau peu commun dans notre région.
