[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was a very sunny and damselfly-rich day which I spent in a small nature reserve consisting of several ponds.
All damselflies were very busy and it was not easy to approach a resting one before it flew off.

Here, I show
- Ischnura elegans
- family: Coenagrionidae

resting on a 'hairy' plant.

Species information
It is a common species in Europe, except for large parts of Spain and Scandinvia, and is also frequently found at TN. With respect to vertical distribution, I. elegans is rarely encountered at altitudes > 800m.

Conditions
- bright sunlight (ISO 400)
- handheld

Hello Peter,

Very nice picture of this damselfly. Excellent composition and sharpness. Sunlight seemed to be very harsh. Splendid vivid colours.
Cheers,
Mariki

I'm sorry, Peter, to have missed this splendid capture of Ishnura elegans in a fine pose. I'm surprise it has chosen such a hairy plant to rest on but it looks good! Brilliant sharpness and lovely natural colours that stand out very well against the background.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla
