A Juvenile Wood Stork having a catfish as breakfast and a Great Egret in the background.
Amazon river is full of fish, the birds living here are very lucky.

Wood Stork (juvenile)
Mycteria americana
89-101.5cm
*The Wood Stork (Mycteria americana) is a large American wading bird in the stork family Ciconiidae. It was formerly called the "Wood Ibis", though it is not really an ibis.
This is a subtropical and tropical species which breeds in much of South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
The Wood Stork is a broad-winged soaring bird that flies with its neck outstretched and legs extended. It forages usually where lowering water levels concentrate fish in open wetlands; they also frequent rice paddies. Wood storks walk slowly and steadily in shallow water up to the belly seeking prey, which, like that of most of their relatives, consists of fish, frogs and large insects. They catch fish by holding their bill open in the water until a fish is detected.

Great Egret
Ardea Alba
91.5-99 cm

*Uncommon to fairly common on coast and in Amazonia; very local in Andes. Most numerous in marshes, irrigated agricultural land, river edges, mudflats, and mangroves along coast; in Amazonia prefers lake
margins and marshes and ismuch scarcer along rivers.

Usually outnumbered by Snowy and Cattle egrets, but sometimes seen in large aggregations. Breeding birds have long white plumes on lower back, and lores become brighter green.

Hi selen,
Great shot. Excellent sharp details with well exposed colours. Good lighting and well composed. Very well done and TFS.

Well done, Selen.
You didn't miss the depth of field which is not obvious.
An extraordinary image content-wise through the fish moment, the Jabiru (not common in TN), the muddy circumstances,...
Nicely done!

Offf offf...

Hi Selen.
a fine picture and you managed to get two different species.
Good sharpness, fine details and very good DOF, both are in good fócus and standout well. And I like the low POV.
Well done.

Hello Selen,
This is great!
A superb action shot of a Jabiru Stork and its captive catfish together with a Great White Egret behind, all of which is sharp in a fine DOF that allows a pleasing OOF natural BG.
An excellent capture and thanks for sharing it.
Have a good weekend,
Ivan

Hello Selen,
Great scene with the Jabiru Stork and Great White Egret. Both are very beautiful. The young Jabiru didn't have the red on its throat.(You can take a look at my Brazil photos).
Excellent sharpness, details and natural colours. Great OOF BG and low POV.

Hi Selen.
Simply brilliant shot of fine birds and pictorial scenery. Excellent clear colours and impressive 3D-effect. I also like great details and sharpness of the images of the both birds. Dark smooth BG underlines the beauty of the main characters perfectly. Bravo. Well done.

Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

merhaba Selen hanım,
ben yine sizin eski trioları hatırladım. meşhur jabiru yanında beyaz balıkçıl -E. goliath olabilir mi bilmiyorum (siz alba olarak not etmişsiniz)- ve ağzında güney amerikanın ilginç yayınbalıklarından birisiyle güzel bir trio. elinize sağlık. seriyi zevkle izliyorum. selamlar.

Selen,

This is an excellent two in one shot! I really like how you captured the action here. The Egret is probably thinking "what a nice breakfast this fish would have made ..." You've captured this moment with very nice detail, sharpness and POV. Excellent work Selen. TFS.

Best Regards,

Martin

Jabiru and Great Egret make a fine pair in this lively shot, Selen.
Though both birds have diverse body shapes and colours, they look amazingly beautiful together.
The image is very sharp, crisp and colourful.
The BG is so very authetic in the picture.
TFS and regards,

Sometimes the luck is with you when nature does it's thing. A very timely capture Selen. The lighting is very good with no bad shadows. That gives us a nice look at the details. The lens managed to go right through the branch in front not bad.

What a magnificent and interesting capture here Selene...Leave alone seeing them, i had n'ver know of the existence of Jabirus.

Lovely documentation of this Jabiru with its catfish prey. The posture and action looks great and the details on the bird is clearly picked up.The bird really has some peculair colours on its body. The far away green background the marsh land provides a great environment. And the habitat looks complete with yet another species..the Great Egret joining the Jabiru in the composition.

Good use of natural light and perfect exposure of the white on the egret.Excellent DoF making this a nice composition.Well done.
TFS & Cheers

Wow, fantastica questa foto! Con due soggetti "incastonati" tra di loro! Complimenti!
