[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

This again is a picture taken a couple of months back. This was taken at Omkar Hills, our neighborhood forest for Macros.

This is the picture of Indian Agama or Red Headed Rock Lizard. You can find Agamas at lots of places around Bangalore. This one near Omkar Hills had been spotted by me almost every time I visited Omkar Hills.

This was actually shot as two pictures of the same Agama combined into one frame using Adobe Photoshop. Some weeks back, I had posted a collage of Garden Lizard exhibiting strange behavior when challenged or when it wants to attract female lizard.

In this picture the Agama exhibited the same behavior. When we approached it for taking picture, it blushed deep Red and also puffed its neck so that it appears larger than its usual size. The males exhibit this behavior when they are frightened or when they get angry. The yellow headed picture was taken after we let it cool for some time and get used to us.

Hi Murali, a superb shot of these beautifuly coloured Indian agamas. TFS. Regards,

Hello Murali,
Colorful reptiles. One should expect a shallow depth of field!
On the contrary the former is very accurate.
Technically well done. Very good work overall...

Hello Murali,
What a splendid close-up of this pair in stunning bright colours! Both are very nicely in focus and showing very sharp details. I like your POV and the soft background too. Well done!
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hi Murali

Clever use of Photoshop to show the changing colours of this Agama (though some people clearly haven't read your notes properly! :-)

Both shots are very well focused and lit with perfect DOF. TFS a very interesting piece of the natural world!
