If your juvi is the same as mine then they soon wise up a bit when the parents stop feeding..They tend to have a few more head turns towards an incoming moggie!!
As for being over exposed..I totally diasagree...you have managed the light proper well here with a superb inquisitive pose from juvi looking out against a superb black bg....This is a seriously good capture Hil.

great shot of this Blackbird.
I like the composition and POV.
Great DOF too.
I don't think this is over-exposed... I think you've exposed it very well!
p.s thanks for the info about the owl place... I'll see if I can go there :-)

What an incredible compo Hilary. The deep background and nicely coloured trees sure compliment the bird. Point if view is well seen.
Thanks for this.

I discover your gallerie for the first time and I'm glad I did so. I notice that your favourite subject are the birds, a subject that I haven't dealed with yet. I'm impressed by the quality of your pictures. This picture here is very well composed and I like the natural frame around the bird.

What a wonderful composition of the juvenile among the greens.I feel the contrast offered by the colour of the bird works well against the lush green environment. I wonder why they are called Black Bird ...does it turn darker as it grows and would like to see it then too.
The bird is captured with quiet sharp details and clarity. It seems to be sitting there just taking in the surroundings. The catchlight in the eye makes it really come alive.Quite interesting PoV, one of those shots where despite the viewer not being able to see the whole bird, one is able to appreciate its beauty.
I do not see an over exposed area on the bird, rather it looks just perfect and well exposed.Perhaps it has to do with monitor calibration levels. The dark Bg adds to the scene and helps keep the focus on the main subject.Good idea to add the song of the bird..this was a new one for me...

The light seems just right to me, not oe at all! I really like how you have captured him peering out of the tree. He seems to have that inate curiousity common to many juveniles!
Lovely colours and nicely composed with your main image off-centre.

Müthiş gözalıcı bir kare bu. Artalan , renkler ve kompozisyon kusursuz. Göz teması ve gaga tüy ayrıntıları da eklenince seyri çok güzel bir kare olmuş. Eline sağlık.

This is a really special shot and captures the cheeky look of these juvenile birds (one has just dug a big hole in my garden and spread dirt all over the garden path). I disagree with you as I think the bird is beautifully exposed. Great composition and pin sharp. I love it
