Common name : Garden Spider or Cross Spider – Scientific name : Araneus Diadematus – Family : Argiopidae.
---
Description : Araneus diadematus is one of the most common and best known orb weavers. It is easily identified by the distinctive white cross on the abdomen. This spider is common in woodlands, heathlands and gardens although human activity in gardens discourages them. It builds a circular orb web and can be found either sitting at the center of the web with its head down or in a retreat at the end of a signal line.
This spider is mature from summer to autumn and is usually at its largest in late autumn when it is at its oldest and often full of eggs. Young spiders emerge from the egg sac in may but usually stay together until they are mature enough to leave. Spiderlings of Araneus diadematus are black and yellow and look almost identical to adults except for the markings.

Christian, My wife says, "not bad for a spider" ;-) She also says the marking on the back looks like a fleur-de-lis? You always seem to use the ambient light very well. Others might have filled in the shadows around the head with added light..Since your concentrating on the design here, I think this is about perfect!!

Excellente macro, Christian.

Very nice Christian. The detail in the pattern is very well captured. Nice work. I hope you'll be paying her another visit soon.

Beautiful this texture, you catched the pattern perfectly and the DOF is good also. I am sure you were patient, it looks really tired :)

Nice and clean shot Chriatian. Excellent sharpness and lots of details, colours are perfect as well as the handling of kight. Personally I would prefer a little more space in front of the spider.

Jolie, pleine de details , aussi bien l'araignée que la texture de la feuille.
Assez d'accord avec ornis pour le miroir (a defaut une feuille d'alu, une piece en metal bien reflechissant peuvent faire l'affaire)

Beautiful capture (if you can say "beautiful" about a spider ;-)) with very good DOF, details and colours. Even some of the eyes are visible ;-))

Very good macro Christian.
Good sharpness with good details , nice colour and DOF
Well done.
