[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a Red-headed Weaver (Anaplectes rubriceps); a species of bird in the Ploceidae family.

I recently uploaded another photo with links towards other data concerning this specie.
Its perch is the nest.

It is photographed in Letaba Camp. There are a lot of trees in the camp. As a consequence, the amount of light wasn't sufficient. Add to this the morning light. A high ISO rate was a necessity. ISO 1600.

Letaba Camp is situated on the southern bank of the Letaba River.

Hi Annick,

I love the look on this Weaver's face! Perhaps he is upset by that big leaf on his nest?? Beautiful colors - that bird is exquisite. Superb details of the not so neat nest. The Weaver is magnificent - sharp details of the expressive face and lovely plummage.

Un saludo

Hi Annik,

lovely picture, beautiful bird, good composition and very nice colours.

thanks for sharing

Dear Annick, amazing picture-portrait, like always, TFS Ori

Wow, man, this is a fantastic shot. You really did so well with the light you had available. Good stuff!

The weavers are just so amazing. It must be an amazing amount of energy that these little birds expend to build such a nest. The color and sharpness are wonderful and also the separation of the subject from the OOF background.

What a lovely weaver bird ! In India, I had found it difficult to approach and these birds look yellowish in India. I am yet to try a hide. Great picture and note.

Hallo Annick,
Great picture of Red-headed Weaver .
Great color, background, lighting and sharpness
Best regards Siggi

Hi Annick
This is a stunning photo - composition, detail, and light are all fantastic. If I am not mistaken I think this is the bird that nests outside the shop at Letaba - I tried unsuccessfully to capture it in December but it would not come near the nest while I was there.

Hi Annick,
A beautiful capture of this weaver bird. The face expression is lovely. Well composed with sharp details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Annick,
Beautiful picture of this bird. Nice soft light.
Despite the high iso, there is almost no noise. This is not my camera! lol

Hi Annick.
What a cute birdy you have captured. Its pose and glance are amazing as well as whole scene. I like all component of the photo art: excellent composition, precise DOF (all main object are crisp sharp and in focus and BG is fine in its blurriness and colourfulness), great details of the bird and nest, amazing colours. Bravo and TFS.

This is a beautiful looking brird with its bright colours .

Oh Annick - this is cute. I love how you've caught him with his head stretched up like that - he's not too sure about you and the camera!!
Very well done - it's good to see all these photos in your theme together

Hi Annick,
this is superb capture! Fantastic shot!

Best regards, Leonid

TOO cool. . . . Great capture!

Beautiful photo with excellent composition and fantastic colours!!!

Hi Annick. For a Red-headed Weaver it sure looks like he has an orange head. To add to that a beautiful orange beak to go with it. A pleasure to see. TFS Trevor
