|Atlantic Edge - Cliffs of Moher|
The cliffs of Moher rise 120 meters (394 ft) above the Atlantic Ocean at Hag's Head, and reach their maximum height of 214 meters just north of O'Brien's Tower, eight kilometres away. The cliffs boast one of Ireland's most spectacular views. On a clear day the Aran Islands are visible in Galway Bay, as are the valleys and hills of Connemara.
As I stood here (over the barrier) a group of young people where gathering behind me about 3ft which was making me a little nervous. They were more curious than anything but you just dont like people standing close behind you at the edge. I was the first of many onlookers to jump the barrier to the edge and I guess they followed my lead.

This shot is just incredible. I gasped with amazement when I looked at it. The detail is superb and the composition ... it looks as if nature has put the cliffs in exactly the right places to give decreasing size for the appreciation of perspective, and a lovely diagonal composition.
Just love it.
It has to become a favourite!

Hello Stephen, what a scene, and what an excellent capture. The cliffs are so sharp - so real! I like the movement of the waters and the softness and colours of the sky too
This is another dramatic presentation. Was it windy and that is why the clouds have such a soft look with the slow shutter speed. There is an optical illusion operating here. When I first opened it looked for a second like that whole triangle of cliffs was just floating in mid air!...kind of sur-real. It must have something to do with the white surf all along the bottom of the cliffs. Interesting.
