[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This butterfly landed on the flower when I took one last look to make sure I gathered everything as me and my dog left the hummingbird area.

I was several feet away, the sun was very bright, and I wasn't even sure that this one capture would turn out.

Although color blind, I can see enough to know that this butterfly has a striking pattern and almost seems to contrast against the background.

This is dedicated to everybody, especially those who need a lift, just a little something to brighten your day.

Hi kathy. And it has done just that the bright colours have brightened up my computer screan . a very good picture of the Butterfly with good detail. With a nice pose on the flower. well done TFS.

Absolutely beautiful image Kathy,
Love the colors and composition. Such a pretty pattern on this very colorful butterfly. The sharpness and detail is wonderful. Great job!!!

a stunning shot of the insect and the floer it perches on. Real sharp and great clarty. the wonderful colours stand out very well from the blurred background. Very impressive with excellent composition.

Hi Kathy,

I love it when a butterfly lands on top of a flower -- and, I'm there with my camera! Though you weren't anticipating another photo op, your shot turned out very well. The colors and patterns contrast in a most satisfying way. Very clear image. I tried to identify your butterfly, using Elizabeth Balmer's "A Pocket Guide to Butterflies & Moths." She has a few Fritillary species that have some similar characteristics. When I did a "fritillary" Image search in Google, I found a photo of a Hydaspe Fritillary (Speyeria hydaspe), which seems very close to the one you captured. Nice work, Kathy!
