Hi markus. Intersting notes explaining what the rocks are about. As for the shot you have captured the shapes and colours so well. We know this is not man made because its to natural. We have a area near to where i live like this on the coast.
Well done TFS.
Nick..
Have a nice weekend
Hello Markus,
An interesting geological image showing flysch strata that looks like the kind of shale we have in the South of Sweden.
This is a clear and interesting image that looks as though the rock is freshly exposed, maybe in a quarry.
TFS this interesting image,
Regards, Ivan
Hello Markus,
Excellent close-up of this very beautiful and interesting natural pattern. Very sharp details and beautiful colours. A fine composition too. I've never heard of Flysch and read your note with interest. It would be interesting to see a view of the area where you found this.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Markus, what a great abstract shot of this unusual rock formation.
I love all the geometric shapes and bold colours.
Superb composition.
Great DOF.
Once again you amaze me with your ability to find a great photo of something many people wouldn't look at twice. :-)
All the best!

Lieber Markus,
Anne

This kind of image will get a smiley and this image will get the area one big headache some day. More than likely in the Himalayas...folks like to talk about the San Andreas in California..but the uplifting and pushing area in Neal and north is like this and boom..That will be the quake to end all quakes...
A few of us who have worked with USGS as pro-am's since 1992 have been learning together. My list Pinpoint put 2 people back in college for new degrees..one went back to finish BS and is now working on MS at 52 years old..the other is working on MS ...you would not believe the interest my group has in images such as this...I shall pass along the URL of this image for them...and as far as my lovely -patterns...I see them here...I can feel them in geologic time...talk about raw power...wow!

The layers are very pronounced in this capture, Markus.
I am intrigued by the variations in each layer with significant colour changes.
The image is very sharp and your note educates us well on this geological phenomenon.
Thanks and regards.

Hi Markus!
This pattern looks wonderful again! It looks similar to coal in the dark parts for first, but it can be distinguished by the blueish tone. Blue and yellow tones always look fine together as this color combination adds some extra feel of contrast to me (might it be for they are opposite side of the color circle). It might even be good for boulder climbing (although I do that on indoor built walls only), it does not look like one that gets harmed by shoes and hands. Anyway, it looks very fine, so TFS! And for the good explanations with it too!
Best regards,
Andor

Hi Markus,
The different textures and colors of these layers of Flysch are most interesting. It shows the history of the land perfectly. I like the frame filling composition and the wonderful details in the photo. Your skill of managing the perfect clarity in a photo is huge.

Hello Markus. I like the framing of Flysch in this shot. The detail and texture is very well exposed making it looking rather geometric. The layers are amazing in the sense that how it was created. Good educational note that is new to me. Well done and best regards. Jusni

Hello Markus,
Very interested presentation of Flysh. On Your photo she obtained the artistic dimension. The sloping arrangement of following layers of sediments superbly tooks in this picture. Excellent colours, very well chosen contrast and the first-class sharpness. Placed by You note, grade to the photo superbly it supplements.
Best regards,
Jurek

Hi Markus
Nice to see you are still devoted to your series of wonderful abstracts. I really like the idea of having very good photographers here in every "field" :)
I probably said this before, but i actually think that abstracts are very relaxing to look at. It's something you can view and think of a million different things :)
This is also why i like shots like this, and the one here is again lovely. I really like the different color layers and the contrast they produce, but probably a bit more than that, i like the geometry: all the straight lines and angles look excellent! On to of everything, it's the diagonal lines that create a superb composition.
Very well taken and nicely presented with a terrific note.
Bravo and TFS

Bonjour Markus
