hard to believe that this moment happened over thirty years ago...i was nearing my second birthday when you were stood here admiring natures power!
Anyway, the light and energy in this one exposure is beautiful. The wave is perfectly positioned and the detail in the foam is great too...i'm a bit keen on the odd seascape myself too y'know ;o)
Looking forward to more!

Grand capture of the breaking waves on the sea shore & over the rocks. A mist created by them is quite obvious in the air against the sunshine. TFS.

Hard to imagine you living in a hippie village :-) It is amazing that this was taken so long ago and scanned so perfectly. You timed this just perfectly as the wave hit the rock. I'm wondering how high the spray was. I'm looking forward to seeing 20 years of these.

Now I see some beautiful coastal scenery from Mendocino coast!
I loved the colour and light in this image with the powerful waves onto the rocks, I can hear the roar from the sea by just looking at the image!
many thanks for the sharing

Hi Bob. Now this is some seascape . the sea looks so wild . you have captured this so well with fine detail. The water looks like its boiling with anger. well done TFS.

I live on the Pacific Ocean - maybe our waves have met!!!
What a beautiful seascape Bob. It looks a rough morning and those rocks must be getting pounded by the waves.
What I like about the coastline - all the photos are so different. No wave seems to hit the rocks the same way.
Good to see this - thank you

I love the raw power here, Bob. The waves caught before they slam onto the rocks or ashore. There's something about this that really draws me in; like another photo that I critiqued earlier, this is filled with emotion.
There's anticipation, excitement, fear, strength, and beauty all mingled together. There are so many human emotions captured in this photo, and as I mentioned earlier (in another posting), I don't see that often.
Perhaps I see things differently; I look not only with my eyes, but after viewing an image, I close my eyes and allow the effects of the image to touch my heart - and that's how I interpret the many emotions.
This is a spectacular capture - everything nature is - and has yet to be.
Also, I laugh because having grown up in Riverside, CA., I know the area where this was taken, although it's a distant (literally and figuratively) memory. :-)
Also, thank you for your kind words regarding my dragon. :-)

Hello Bob. I used to own this rock solid equipment. Excellent sharpness with this f/1.2 fast optics. I like the light, the framing and the splash. Well timed capture and good job with the new scanner and software. Well done and best regards. Jusni
Nice capture Bob.
I can almost feel the spray from the crashing waters hit me in the face. This reminds me of Lake Erie on a really windy day, even the water color seems the same.
Funny you took this with a Pentax K1000, I have two of them with all kinds of attachments and lenses, but they just sit on the shelf these days.

fascination shot from the coast.
I like the soft colors.
If this is a scan, I could'nt see it.
I have heard about Mendocino from that song from the douglas quintet with Dough Sam.

Portrait of a pacific roller by a young photographer! At least almost anyone alive now was young thirty years ago.
Your talent was evident then: the lighting, the timing and the composition, which makes it a great one from your extensive archives, Bob.
I didn't see the Pacific look like this when I was there before this was taken.

What a fantastic image, Bob!
You've captured the power of the ocean so well here.
Excellent timing and exposure.
I love the slight sepia tint to it, it gives a sense of it's age :-)
Fine work Bob, looking forward to more!
