[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After a cold wet weekend, today, Tuesday 7th June was a lovely sunny Winters Day. I spent all day with Janice (Jancie) at the Auckland Domain where we invaded the Summer & Winter Gardens with our cameras. During the day we stopped for a well earned coffee and gave the cameras an opportunity to have a rest too. As usual, the bird life was full on. Janice had a very friendly pigeon land on her. It tried to help her eat a muffin. Then there were many Sparrows. These Sparrows were very tame. They sat on the backs of the chairs, by our feet and beside the chairs and longingly looked up wanting to be fed.....

With a face as cute as this, how could you say no!

I hope you like! Thanks for popping by.

I can feed you with mountain of salt from my today's picture or with small radish from my breakfast - the choice is yours ;-) Cute bird, I like its pose, face and lightplay on its head.

Hey I've seen her before!! Excellent capture Pam. She's a real sweetie, and looks so soft and friendly, as she was. The light is shining on her so perfectly. Good shot and a very good day.

Excellent shot Pam, Great details and clarity. Nice lighting too. :) It is really a cutie. TFS

Hi Pam
Excellent capture. The composition is really good here and together with the light it makes a very fine capture to look at with all the concentration on the bird and the eye. Sharpness and dof is spot on.

Did you use fill-flash or were you happy to have the right light?

Hahaha, great portrait Pam! You certainly had eyecontact. What was this little critter thinking?? That the food would come out of the lens or something. :) Sharp details, well composed and great exposure. Well done! TFS!

Incredibly sharp image - looks like one could reach out and touch the feathers! Many years ago I used to take pictures inthe Domain - glad to see it hasn't lost its appeal!

This is an adorable shot Pam!
Exceptionally well captured, with superb detail, and great eye contact on this one.
Food must also be a universal language.

Yeh, the face of an opportunistic riff raff - I have plenty of them around the feeder - I am filling their birdbath with luke-warm water some mornings, and you must see how they enjoy the early morning bath in this!
Very nice 'n cute sparrow with great eye contact, well done, Pam.

Great shot Pam,

This is a very original POV. Love how the light is on the head, and the rest of the body is dark. Lovely, sharp details.

Well done

Very nice close-up Pam! Neat POV, nice catchlight - Great job!

Splendid shot, Pam. The POV is very interesting, as it shows the sparrow in an unusual pose. Super sharp details, great eye and beak well in the light. I like it very much!
