One thing I notice right off besides your always good styled of shooting...is the eyes...they stick right out with quite the clarity one doesn't always get in this type of image....and with the lighting which is superb....it very much changes tee whole picture from drab. to magnificent! VERY much appreciated..

Though the hindwing is torn thia ia a fine portrait of the Evening Brown taken from a standars POV in this closed-wing position. Excellent sharpness and lighting to show not only the intact part of the hindwing but the upper surfaceof the forewing where the hindwing is damaged.
TFS this fine image,

very nice shot of this butt...yes one does see this very often in the evenings heading for the nearest light source....difficult to shoot during the day as it is mostly deep in the shrubs and never gives a clear view!

At first I didn't notice that a part of the wing was missing. But just this fact makes the shot so special, especially if it is so difficult to see the buttterfly with open wings. Excellent and sharp presentation and very subtle and fine colours. I know the position on the belly very well too :-).
Thanks for this beautiful posting

You have shown in avery good manner this butterfly. There is a well chosen background it's colors being in a good contrast with the butterfly. Therefore viewers attention is canalised to the main subject, the butterfly. Image is very sharp showing insect's wings in great details. Both pattern and texture can be observed in detail.
Thank you for sharing,

What an opportunity to get both sides of the wing of this Evening Brown Butterfly! A magnificent macro showing off the beautiful wing markings. A lovely position with a good view of the head and antennae. Colors and details are excellent. A nice background that blends well with the butterfly. I would love to see a picture of you taking this picture!

It really is a nice and interesting POV. Despite the broken wing butterfly is looked amazingly and as a bonus we can see coloration of the internal side of the wing. Composition also as a POV of the image are great as well as sharpness of the photo model. Kind regards and all the best. Well done.
