Lined Seahorse
Hippocampus erectus
Seahorses are poor swimmers and depend on their camouflage both to hide from enemies and conceal themselves from prey. They blend so well into their background that the casual observer rarely sees them. Seahorses are able to grab hold of plants with their tails to anchor themselves. Male seahorses carry the eggs around in a pouch on their bodies, caring for them until they hatch. |
