Lesser known backyard inhabitants:

This is a 6 mm long female Grass bug (Heteroptera; Miridae; Stenotus binotatus (Fabr. 1794); Zweifleck-Weichwanze). It's one of the organisms that are distributed almost worldwide today but really originate from Europe. In Europe you find them everywhere---if you notice them! Since they live on common grasses and in the shadow you are hard put to do so.

Technical stuff: A double macro flash with light dispersers was used. In post processing with PS there was some juggling to do (Crop, Shadow/Highlight, Contrast 12%, Green saturation 10%, Sharpen, stamping out smudges).

Lieber Dieter,

Markus

Hello Dietrich,
Lovely shot! Not quite the usuall picture of a bug. I really like the dark BG with the yellow spot. Simple but so effective. The details are very clear and sharp. Nice framing too.
WELL DONE!

Witaj,
świetna kompozycja i ciekawy POV. Pięknie oświetlone, wydobyłeś całą gamę odcieni zieleni i brązów.
Gratuluję i pozdrawiam
Alina

Hello Dietrich,

It is a very fine close-up that you have made! The insect and plant beneath are shown in great sharpness so that many fine details can be well seen. I like the yellow spot in the background agains which the insect looks great.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian
