[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

This was taken on my week off from work, at a place you will probably recognise from paul haynes' photos, called Hengistbury head near bournemouth.
The weather forecast was a bit dodgy so i didnt want to travel too far from home in case it was a wasted trip, plus this was a place that i have wanted to see at sunrise for a while. This proved to be a good decision.

Thanks for looking

Hi Ewan

This is really beautiful, my friend!
Apparently you don't have to go too far to get an amazing seascape if you live in such a lovely place :)

Excellent work here on many leveles! I really like the long shutter effect on both the water and the clouds - retaining a bit of motion and enhancing the upper side of the frame, too.
The tones and colors are all gorgeus and where last tine i said i wanted a bit more light, here i say it's bang on! The details and textures of hte clouds are equally lovely and that thin band right above the horizon is the cherry on top of the cake.

I agree that it was a good decision! This is really lovely. The wide angle effect is quite stunning. I love the foreground details. The sky and color are wonderful.

Evelynn : )

a truly beautiful photo where colors, contrasts and light are all optimally balanced. Beautiful the moving effect on the sea thanks to a long exposition that you have successfully given. Great the color shadings more and more ignited towards the sun that gives the right perspective and depth to the composition.

What a fantastic shot, Ewan!!
The sky is incredible!
I've been here quite a few times but here you show it in a new light for me (quite literally!) :-)
Excellent composition using the texture-filled rocks as FG interest and the diagonal shore-line as a great lead-in line for the eye to follow.
Very good sharpness and clarity.
The sky seems a little flat but can easily given more punch with Curves or levels.
Great wide view from that awesome sigma lens.
I love those fluffy clouds just above the horizon.
Brilliant super-long exposure to render the sea mist-like :-)

I'd so love to be able to take a shot like this so keep em coming so I can learn more! :-)

Hi Ewan,
I looked at this photo before and liked the emptyness of it a lot. Noe I've got time to actually sit down for it and look at the details. The light and its reflection are a real beauty in this photo. it gave the photo a wonderful mood. I like the rock in the FG and the silky touch of the surf along the shore line. But, the clouds are probably the best part of the Photo. The higher clouds have catched the light superbly and the layer of low clouds along the horizon add a good balance with the cliffs. All in all in stunner.

Hello Ewan.

Excellent picture, nice composition and colors.

Jose Luis.
