[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Walking among the ruins of Dvigrad castle, not far from the village of Vodnjan in Istarska, I had the chance to take a picture of this colourful butterfly which was trying to climb on the top of this yellow flower during a particulary windy day.

Hello Samuele

This is a great post. Love the colours. The b'fly is wonderful against the yellow of the flower. Your background is awesome. Well done.

Very nice foto:-)I like this butterfly.Intresting composition.

Nice shot, a little on the dark side but I guess that was just the light quality. Composition is good, sharpness too.

If I am not mistaken, this is Issoria Lathonia or the Queen of Spain Fritillary. It belongs to the family Nymphalidae, subclass Argynninae. The backs of their wings are very iridescent, which is why in Dutch they are called Parelmoervlinders (or Mother-of-Perl Butterfly).

The flower it is sitting on might be Brassica napus (Oilseed) but I am not sure.

It's nice you have found this beautiful insect. But, why didn't you try a close-up?
You have got a nice POV here.
If you could catch him in macro, I can't imagine the superb photo this could have become....
Anyway it's a good try.

Hi , Samuele!
Very nice picture! You tuch my heart with this picture from my Croatia ! Thank you so much !God composition , nice sharpnes ...
Regards ,
Cro-star !

Excellent shot and well exposed.

The composition could be cropped having less space on the left.
I did a workshop as an example to what I mean.
Though the w.s. is smaller cause the original I don't have to work with would have been made to fit the site.

Beautiful butterfly. Good sharpness, DOF and colours. I like it.

Love this shot.....so lonely but beautiful.
What kind of butterfly is that?

Hi Samuele
I was about to suggest a crop, because the butterfly seems to be lost in the center of this large pic, but I see that someone already made a workshop for you.
Anyway, the butterfly is very nice and I never saw one of this kind in my region. Thank you for sharing.

Very pretty butterfly. I hope some day I can visit more countries in Europe.

Hello Samuele,

Very nice shot. But a tighter centring on the subject would favour it more.
Cheer. TFS, cordially.

Très belle photo. Mais un recadrage plus serré l'avantagerait plus.
Bravo et merci pour le partage, cordialement,
