[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Fly Agaric growing by the side of the road, Banks Peninsula, New Zealand.

Amanita muscaria, the Fly Agaric, is an introduced species in New Zealand. A weed.
This toadstool is very poisonous to humans. It is found where birches, oaks, pines, and native beech grow. Its effect on native fungi in New Zealand is still not properly understood, but it is of deep concern to landcare experts there.
****************************************************
These toadstools are also, it is widely believed, amongst the favourite haunts of the wee folk, fairies. In deference to this widely held belief, I have given this photograph a slight, soft diffused glow.

This is a good capture of the fungi Sheldon. Nice and bright and sharp too. Good composition too, well done.

Hi Sheldon.
This is a very artistic image, the light and glow made a really nice atmosphere. In my modest opinion, it is just a pity that you did not remove the ilttle straws in the way, but still a great image. Thanks very much for sharing.
PD: It is not so poisonous, there is a lot of legend in this one. A lot of tribus use it regularly for antheogenic porpouses. If you just pick them and eat them, you will probably vomit and have some gastrointestinal problems and a bad trip, not much more than if you drink a bottle of whisky :)
Great work, Felipe.
