Today another capture from the krugerpark,I have posted this bat before in my portfolio some time ago of a previous visit to the krugerpark, then I had used a flash to brighten things up.

This time I have tried to capture this mammal in a different way, first of all I wanted to capture it without additional flash (I increased ISO to 800)and I tried to capture it in BW,as well I saw a couple of youngsters attached to probably their mother, mostly they were covered under her wings, but sometimes visible for a few moments (in these times however there was a lot of movement),in this short times I tried to capture some shots whereof this is one of the better ones, hope you like it and tfw

by the way these bats are probably named as Peter's epauletted fruit bat - Epomophorus crypturus

Neat picture. I've never seen anything quite like it. Black and white works just fine. Gary

Hi Paul,
Very cool image, looks great in B&W.
Excellent timing and moment captured, with mom cradling the youngster this way.
Don't think the POV could be better, great interest..
This is one of those photos that pulls you in, makes you want to stay awhile :)
Very well done,

Hello Paul

This would make a terrific Halloween post.
There is a dramatic feel to it in black and white.
Interesting POV with god DOF.
The details are very good.

Hi Paul,
A nice BW capture of this fruit bat and its juveniles. Superb sharp details and a lovely composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Bats are beautiful misunderstood creatures. You captured an innocence and beauty here. Lovely angle and point of view with those big eyes looking up at you.
